Closing your account
Account administrators can close a TridentStack Control account from Settings > Privacy & Data. Closing an account is different from canceling a subscription. Canceling returns the account to the free tier with its data intact.
Close your account
- Sign in as an account administrator.
- Open Settings > Privacy & Data.
- Select Close account and follow the prompts.
- Complete the verification step to confirm your identity, then enter the tenant key shown on screen.
After you confirm closure:
- The account locks immediately.
- Agents disconnect and stop syncing within minutes.
- Your data remains restorable for 90 days.
- Any paid subscription is canceled. Restoring the account later does not restart it.
- The closed-account screen shows the date when permanent deletion will occur.
- An email confirmation is sent to the account administrators.
The account remains fully locked while it is closed. Users cannot use the account until it is restored or the recovery window ends.
Restore a closed account
You can restore the account before the permanent deletion date from the closed-account screen:
- Sign in as an account administrator.
- Select Restore account on the closed-account screen.
- Complete the verification step and enter the tenant key shown on screen.
Restoring the account re-enables access and allows its agents to connect and resume syncing. Restoring does not restart a paid subscription: if your organization had one before closing, you can subscribe again from Settings > Licensing. After permanent deletion begins, the account cannot be restored.
What is retained after deletion
After the recovery window, data is permanently deleted from production systems. Encrypted backup copies expire on a fixed rotation. Billing records and security audit logs are retained where legal and compliance obligations require.
